Last week, we were fortunate enough to gift the McCullen Family a Best Christmas Ever! With the help of our devoted community of Fan Girls and our friends at Basecamp Fitness Apple Valley, we got to surprise the McCullen family with special holiday gifts and a large financial donation to assist with medical bills and expenses.
The McCullen family hasn’t been able to catch a break since their daughter Parker was born in December 2021 with Congenital Melanocytic Nevus (CMN). This is an extremely rare condition and Parker is 1 in 7 billion with this type of gene mutation. Since her birth, they have been in and out of hospitals all over the country. Parker has had 7 major surgeries to remove this mass, and the next steps are tissue expansion and bone reconstruction for her skull which will start next year.
On top of Parker’s health condition, her father Alex, was diagnosed with Epilepsy right before the birth of his daughter. Just recently, they lost Alex’s father unexpectedly, so this family is left to also navigate grief. Despite everything, Haley and Alex have remained the best parents to Parker and still manage to show up for other people in need.
On December 20th, the Fan Girl team visited the McCullen residence to surprise the family after Alex returned from work. We were invited in to watch Parker open some of her Christmas gifts and share the mission of Best Christmas Ever.
The opportunity to shower a family so deserving is exactly what the Holiday season is all about. To extend a helping hand to others and be of service to our community, to support those who might appreciate extra consideration during the trials and tribulations of life was exactly what the Fan Girl team set out to do this Holiday season.
