At Fan Girl, we're rolling out the red carpet and starting to pop the confetti because this year's Lynx roster is stacked with 8 new unstoppable players that are raising the stakes this season. 🎉✨With the Lynx season kicking off with a 2-1 record so far, why not learn a little bit more about the newest players who have only begun to scratch the surface in showcasing their talents. From the players making their WNBA debuts to the players making their Lynx debuts, this year's team is bringing their A-game to the court. Get to Know the Newest Minnesota Lynx Players:

WNBA Rookies:

Alissa Pili, #35

Position: Forward

Pili was Minnesota Lynx 1st-round selection in the WNBA 2024 Draft and the eighth overall pick! The extremely talented offensive player began her college career at the University of Southern California where she was named the Pac-12’s Freshman of the Year in the 2019-2020 season. Last season while at the University of Utah, she was named Pac-12's Player of the Year ⭐️. While Pili is just getting started in per pro career, her impressive track record and relentless drive is set to boost the Lynx's performance this season.

Taylor Soule, #7

Position: Forward

Bringing energy and versatility to the Lynx is Taylor Soule. Out of Virginia Tech, where she earned All-ACC honors, Soule is known for her scoring ability, dynamic play-style and strong defensive skills that make her a key addition to the roster. While she hasn't gotten much playing time yet, fans are excited to see her impact on the court, adding a fresh spark and competitive edge to the team's lineup ⚡️. 

Olivia Époupa, #0

Position: Guard

Out of France, Époupa is an exciting new addition for the Lynx this season. While she is new to the WNBA, she's no stranger to pro ball. Known for her speed and defensive genius that she demonstrated in international play on the French National team. Her exceptional ball-handling, court vision, and tenacity on defense has already proved to enhance the Lynx's this season.

Free Agent Signees:

Courtney Williams, #10

Position: Forward

Selected eighth overall in the 2016 WNBA Draft, Courtney Williams the newest addition to the Minnesota Lynx. Best known for her scoring ability and on-court charisma, Williams previously showcased her talents with standout performances naming her a WNBA All-Star in 2021. As twelfth all-time in scoring, she has just begun to elevate the team's offensive firepower, so you can definitely look forward to her continued excellence this season! 

Alanna Smith, #8

Position: Forward

Two-year WNBA player out of Stanford, Alanna Smith is bringing the heat this season. Standing at 6'4, her ability to stretch the floor as a forward, shooting touch, and defensive presence has made her a standout player. Already averaging 19 points per game, her impact in scoring, rebounding, and shot-blocking abilities will not go unnoticed this season ⭐️.

Off Season Trades:

Natisha Hiedeman, #2

Position: Guard

Hiedeman is known for her speed, agility, and sharpshooting abilities, traits that she honed during her standout college career at Marquette University. Now with 5 years WNBA experience, Hiedeman has a knack for making big plays and disrupting opponents on defense, adding tenacity to the Lynx lineup. Keep an eye out for #8 this season because she has already made an electrifying presence on the Lynx court.

Sika Koné, #3

Position: Forward

Hailing from Ivory Coast at just 23 years old, Sika Koné is all in this season for the Lynx! Koné has made waves in international basketball with her versatility and skill set. As a forward, she possesses a rare combination of strength and agility that make for exceptional talent. With a relentless work ethic and a determination to succeed, Koné is poised to make a significant impact for the Lynx as they chase success in the WNBA!

Cecilia Zandalasini, #9

Position: Forward

Returning to the Minnesota Lynx for the first time since 2018, Zandalasini brings a wealth of international experience and a sharpshooter's touch to the Lynx this season. The 2017 WNBA Champion, is renowned for her scoring ability, particularly from beyond the arc ⭐️. The versatility, court awareness, and defensive tenacity she brings has already contributed to the Lynx's wins this season and she promises to continue to be a valuable asset.
